“I've gotta admit I feel a little bit nervous.”
The scene fades in slowly to an old familiar scene of a rough looking power lifting gym. The light is slightly dim, some of the equipment looks a little bit worse for wear and in the background the viewer can hear the almost rhythmic grunts and clangs of people working out. Sitting front and center of the screen on a worn out weight bench in nothing but some workout shorts and a sweat stained muscle tee was “Primal” Jacky Sade.
“You don't hear me say it very often but I am. You all saw what happened last week. Danny and I, we made a deal with the devil. Now I'm no stranger to doing business with bastards. I used to be a cop for Christ's sake, it was practically a regular part of the job but when I look back I can't help but feel like maybe I might have jumped gun a bit.”
Jacky shrugged.
“Oh well, what's done is done. Just like the rest of you I'll just have to see how this plays out and deal with the consequences when they come. So lets focus on something more positive like my match with Ion this Sunday.”
The big man was smiling now and his voice had a more jovial tone.
“Aside from what I've heard through the grape vine, I don't know shit about you Ion and that makes me ecstatic. That's not sarcasm. I really mean it kid. There's no bad blood between. There ain't nobody greasing some other body's palm.
Nada....
Nothing.”
Jacky paused and took a deep breath. I swollen and sweat soaked muscles heaved underneath his the thing fabrics of his gym cloths and if straining to get out. The large man reaches under his seat and grabs a New Wave water bottle. He takes a long, slow swig before looking back at the camera.
“That mean's that you and I just get to out there and fight. My power, your speed and a desire to see which one of is the better at this. That's just how I like it. Unlike my friend Danny I don't care about the politics in this business. I don't want to spend every waking moment worrying about my reputation or my image or who's looking for legal loop holes that they can use to screw me over. If it were up to me I'd lift weights, bust heads and sign autographs. Those are the parts of this job that I love.
So Ion I hope you're ready. I hope your silence is just a sign of that you've been busy training and not a sign that you just don't give a shit because after what went on behind the scenes last week I need a good competitive match. I want you to take me to my limit. I want to hit you as hard as I can only for you to get back up, look me in the eye and dare me to do it again. I want to stumble away from the ring in exhaustion not stomp away with blue balls because you couldn't last with me very long. I've been training my ass off these past couple of weeks to give you and these wonderful fans the kind of debut match you deserve.
So don't you dare try to piss on me and all of them by not showing me the same respect. Because if that happens then I promise you that this is going to hurt.”
The scene slowly fades to black as Jacky Sade leans back on the bench. The last thing the audience hears before the feed cuts out completely is another grunt and a clang.
