How We Roll | New Wave:Wrestling Upgraded


	Originally opening as Fantasy Wrestling Federation in 2004, we rebranded as New Wave in 2011 to give a much needed fresh start to put the fun back into this hobby. We were in instant hit with e-fedding communities, achieving RoughKut Top 10 status. After a short hiatus, we have re-emerged with a brand new concept – a twist on traditional roleplay federations. New Wave: Wrestling Upgraded! Is an all new way to e-fed, combing traditional shoot skills with tactical thinking. Compete against other Gladiators as well as yourself, advancing your career as a professional wrestler like never before. Earn money, build your attributes and rise through the ranks to become NW:WU Undisputed Champion!

HOW TO PLAY

Whilst predominantly a roleplay federation, we operate under a fun and fair system that rewards activity without punishing people who don't have the time to churn out length blocks of text every week. Match outcomes are determined under a points-based system, where the Gladiator with the highest amount of match points (or, 'MP') is the winner. To win, follow the 4 S's, 'SHOOTS', 'STATS', 'SHOP' and 'SMACKS' – each one offers a different amount of MP, as shown below.

SHOOTS – up to 100 MP

Sometimes referred to as a 'promo' or 'RP', a shoot is a written speech or story, usually from the point of view of your Gladiator. There is no preferred style as points are earned by members' votes.

Shoot Limit: 2 (negotiable between Gladiators)
Word Limit: 100 min – 1,000 max

Each match will have it's own thread to post shoots. Members will use this thread to vote on the best shoot, and the percentage of votes is converted to MP, rounded up to the nearest whole number.
e.g. If 33.3% of members vote for Frank, Frank will get 34 MP.

*STATS – up to 50 MP*

Each Gladiator has ten attributes, as shown on the right. This are built up over time by earning/buying stat points (or, 'SP'). During a match, the person with the highest amount of SP in each attribute will receive 5 MP. e.g. Frank has 9 SP for Aerial/High-flying, but Bob has 11 SP. This means Bob will get 5 MP. This process is then repeated for the remaining attributes. In the case of a tie, both Gladiators will get 5 MP.

SMACKS – up to 30 MP

SmackTalk is New Wave's social network and 'smacks' is the best word we could come up with for status updates.

Members can submit up to 3 smacks for their match by using the hashtag #match. For every 'like' this receives, 2 MP is rewarded up to a maximum of 10 MP per smack.

SHOP

We have a built-in interactive shop where members can buy items that alter scores of matches as well as careers. Some items have minor affects while others can really do some damage.

The Shop will be open during week 1 (as shown in the schedule further down this page). Members can buy/return as many things as they want, but once the shop closes all sales are final.

*CAREER*	JOBBER – starting rank Every Gladiator begins with 10 SP, so will not be in this rank for long. ROOKIE – 15 SP OPENER – 30 SP You are now eligible to challenge for the Lost Heroes Trophy. MIDCARDER – 80 SP You are now eligible to challenge for the Undisputed Championship. MAIN EVENTER – 150 SP HALL-OF-FAME – 200 SP To win, you must have held the Undisputed Championship.

While competing against other Gladiators, the main objective of the game is to make it into the Hall-of-Fame by rising through the ranks, beginning as a jobber. The bubble on the right shows information about each rank. Ranks are determined based on the amount of overall stat points a Gladiator has. It is the total SP from all attributes. SP can be built up in a number of ways and even be bought from the NW-Shop. The main way to earn is by winning matches. See the 'Rewards/Penalties' page for a full table of how SP is earned/lost. Gladiators receive e-money for a number of tasks which can be spent in the NW-Shop on items that affect match scores and boosts careers.

We operate on a bi-weekly basis, which consists of three editions of Future-Shock, followed by a pay-per-view event. The rewards/penalties will be greater at PPV's.

On days where there is a deadline, the deadline's time is 11:00 pm GMT / 6:00 pm EST. There is a countdown on your cPanel on the left.

We are quite relaxed, but the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. Effort and activity are rewarded here, although they are not obligatory. Whilst you will be penalised money and SP, no-showing isn't the end of the world. However, failing to submit a shoot twice in a row is game over.


	*APPLICATION & PROFILE*

	Your application contains basic information in order to determine which attributes your first 10 SP goes. It is the shortest application in e-fedding and is used to set up your profile page; however, once this is posted it cannot be altered. Your profile contains other information, such as movesets, and can be edited at your leisure by clicking the profile icon in the cPanel. Please refer to the 'Taken/Reserved' list before filling out an application. A gladiator may have only ONE finisher and up to TWO signature moves. These are the only moves that can have custom names. Movesets must contain at least 10 moves and no more than 20. Height must be between 5' and 7'. Weight must be between 100 lbs and 400 lbs.
	*VOTING*

	- When voting in matches, vote purely based on the quality of shoots and nothing else. When liking #match-Smacks, like as a member and not as a character. - You may vote for yourself. You may like your own #match-Smacks. - You may change your vote as many times as you want until the voting deadline.
	*IMAGES*

	- All avatars are automatically sized at 150x150px. - Signatures are limited to a maximum width of 800px and a maximum total height of 600px. - Moving images such as gifs and videos are not permitted as they lead to slower page-loading times. - A forum signature, at your request, will be made after you have competed in one match. - Nudity is not permitted. All sexy images are to PMed immediately to Mr. Sharp for... inspection...?
	*ADVERTISING*

	We support the e-fedding community. You may have one topic in the 'E-fed Database' but are limited to 2 posts per week, unless replying to a question or comment. You may also add a link in your signature.
	*DON'T BE A DICK*

	We have a warm and welcoming environment without an ego in sight. We've never had any drama and intend to keep it that way. We do not tolerate homophobia, racism or sexism in any way. Anyone found to be abusive will have a big black lesbian to contend with.
	*MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS*

	- You are welcome (and encouraged) to create a second Gladiator; however three is not permitted (unless as part of a tag team) - Each character must have a separate account. - You may only vote or like #match-Smacks with ONE account.
	*NO-SHOWING*

	Failing to shoot a promo isn't the end of the world. Shit happens. While you will be penalised money and stat points, no other action will be taken. No-showing a PPV will come with slightly higher penalties. We are about as relaxed as you can be, but no-showing two shows in a row will be game over. You will be suspended for a month, after which you may reapply, although any money and stat points you had previously earned will be lost. Similarly, anyone found to be abusing this rule will suffer the same consequences. Of course, you can avoid any penalties simple by telling a staff member you want a show (or shows) off.
