The New Wave Nation got the news they'd been waiting for this morning when it was announced that New Wave will be reopening its doors next week. Negotiations between former NW owner Chris Sharp and action channel Stampede TV reveal a new format.Fans of the much-loved independent promotion welcomed news of the return which will see seventeen pay-per-view events over the course of one year. Each show will have its own identity and will take place every three weeks, but promises to deliver the same hard-hitting, high-flying action that once proved New Wave is Wrestling Upgraded! After an explosive two years, the fastest-rising wrestling promotion fell hard when Sharp's former business associate Christine Marsh eloped with all the cash, forcing an immediate halt to production which led to the closure of the company. The 'Twisted Genius' although no longer in sole control, will remain with NW as producer and Director of Authority. When asked for a comment, Sharp had this to say: “BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH. HAHAHAHAHA. Ha.” Commentary legend Sam Strachon will reportedly come out of retirement next month. The former voice of UCW, FWF and PWE was last seen in NEWera, but a poor working relation lead to him hanging up the headset. “They made me say things that weren't funny,” he told Parts Unknown Magazine. Sam took to SmackTalk this morning, posting "Thank fuck for that. This is my most expensive divorce yet." No other names have been announced, sending social media into a frenzy over which new and returning Gladiators will be lacing up their boot and stepping through the purple ropes. Rumours of a Hulk Hogan versus "Smart" Mark Bisley have been shot down. Tickets for the highly anticipated return show will go on sale next week. The event will air from Iowa's Carver-Hawkeye Arena and will be available live on Stampede TV or on-demand from wearethenewwave.proboards.com.

Am I the only one who's slightly disappointed that we're not going to get Hogan vs Bisley?
